Ready Set Dance Levels 1,2,3

We are very proud to announce that we are now the official Ready Set Dance location for the Douglas Shire! Ready Set Dance is a new pre-school dance syllabus that has taken Australia and New Zealand by storm! Ready Set Dance also has their own TV show on Nickelodeon Jnr, where you may be familiar with characters TWIRL and FREEZE!
The class aims to develop the three ‘C’s - coordination, creativity and confidence. The exercises are all designed to help pre-schoolers achieve developmental milestones.
Ready Set Dance is a combo class that includes jazz, tap, singing, music and hip hop. This gives pre-schoolers a taste of lots of different styles of dance in the one lesson.
The classes are also awesome for boys.  It has themes like robots, race cars, dinosaurs and pirates to engage them! They are also filled with fun props like parachutes, bean bags, shakers, microphones, rhythm sticks and magic wands.
LEVEL 1: Turns 3 by 30th June 2021
LEVEL 2: Turns 4 by 30th June 2021 (Kindy)
LEVEL 3: Turns 5 by 30th June 2021 (Prep)

Ballet

The traditional classical style; building on strength, technique and poise.

Tap

A syncopated, rhythmic dance style using both older and modern-day music.

Jazz

A fast moving style used with modern day music, incorporating foundations of dance technique.

Hip Hop

An innovative and up-beat style of dance where students add their own style to choreography, enhancing individuality.

Contemporary

An interpretive dance style using musicality to express artistic themes.

Commercial Jazz

A modernised style of jazz that uses popular music. Usually associated with the commercial scene eg; film clips, corporate entertainment and professional stage shows.

Song & Dance

A style that encompasses the whole performance package: dancing, singing and acting. Inspired by the best musicals, straight from Broadway and West End.

Vocal

A style that encompasses the whole performance package: dancing, singing and acting. Inspired by the best musicals, straight from Broadway and West End.

Highland

Developed in the Scottish Highlands in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, often performed to the accompaniment of Highland bagpipe music.

Acro & Conditioning

Following the “Acrobatic Arts” syllabus, students will learn safe acrobatic techniques to be integrated into their regular dance classes. Conditioning and strength exercises are also incorporated into these lessons.

Adult Classes (Hip Hop & Tap)

Suited to all ages and abilities … it’s never too late to learn!
